About us

After many years of working with children and young people inside and outside of the education system, we recognise that neurodiverse students often require an environment in which the pathway to success is more flexible than the formalised school system can accommodate.

EduDiverse provides children and young people with high quality alternative educational experiences on the Isle of Wight, so as to strengthen their chances of success in education and life.

James Ranson

Founder of EduDiverse

James has been working with children and young people in a variety of roles for 20 years. He has held senior roles in the outdoor activity industry, taught within the Isle of Wight School system, and most recently worked as the Senior Special Educational Needs Officer for the Isle of Wight Council.

James is experienced in teaching a wide range of adventurous sports and has competed in surfing to a national level. James understands the value of the natural environment and the positive impact it has on young people. He is passionate about bringing inclusive activity instruction to children and young people by building trusting relationships through the use of emotion coaching.
